Oh, no, not again!

Joseph Stiglitz: the euro may not survive

Joseph Stiglitz, one of the world's leading economists, has warned that the future of the euro is "looking bleak" and the fragile European economic recovery could be irreparably damaged by a "wave of austerity" sweeping the continent.

Comment: What Stiglitz has in common with Krugman is that when his claims are falsified by reality, he screams even louder that nevertheless he'll be right in the future. According to the so-called US "star economists", Europe and the USA should be at war by now (Feldstein), the the euro would no longer exist (Friedman), the euro area would be in a deep depression by now (Krugman) and, of course, if the euro hasn't already brought down Europe as of now, it will do that in the future, whenever that is (Stiglitz), all along with Roubini according to whom a couple of months ago the euro would have be at 1:1 instead of 1.36 dollars. Why are newspapers so much after these guys? Maybe to show that these (fake) "Nobel prize winners" are even more incompetent than the journalists themselves. But maybe I'm wrong and these guys are just part of criminal gang who want to bring down America along with Europe. Then, however, very smart, indeed, judged by this standard.
